We love this figurine. Each character came from a kids’ meal at Hungry Jacks. And we only bought one HJ meal – my family helped me collect the rest. Lisa was the hardest to get – my sister drove around to 4 different HJs to get her. Miss 4′s face lit up when she had the complete set even though she has only seen a couple of episodes.

Then recently we attended a birthday party at an indoor centre where there was a life size version of our figurine and Miss 4 was simply blown away.

Both hubby and I are avid readers and we are trying to raise our kids to become the same. We believe in feeding their minds. Just like we feed them food several times a day so they grow healthy bodies, we read to them just as often.
We were getting ready to head out this morning and this is how Miss 4 decided to wait for us:

I guess whatever we are doing is working so far :)

All things pumpkin

I was generously given four huge pumpkins organically grown in the south west about two weeks ago and have been waiting to find the time to cook them all. Hubby was very sweet and cut them all up for me so I had to look for some pumpkin recipes so as not to waste these four beautiful pumpkins. I did not take any photos but they looked like these.

So I started with Pumpkin Couscous with natural yoghurt and coriander

Then the honey roasted pumpkin

Of course Miss 4 had to help me make pumpkin scones

Finally la pièce de résistance – James Reeson‘s Baked Beef and Cheesy Risotto with my own personal twist baked pumpkin

And you could say that now I am all pumpkined out!!!
