Tissue season

tissues

Oh the joys of having school aged children!
Master3 and I are in our third week of colds … I think we actually caught one after another and it definitely wasn’t the flu but we are still fighting the awful nasty things. We are constantly using tissues … thankfully we only buy the aloe vera ones so our noses are still nice and soft.

Every single person we come across has a different remedy suggestion for us: try lemon and honey, try echinacea, try olive leaf extract, use the eucalyptus spray in the house, bathe yourself in garlic, put ginger in every soup you make, you name it we’ve heard it and I have tried everything and nothing changes … if other kids bring it to school then we are most likely going to catch those germs. It’s just what happens when 30 kids are in one room together for an entire day. Anyway there’s a lot less coughing, spluttering and green coloured tissues now yay!

The first 7 days were awful – and I couldn’t believe it was just a cold… God forbid we should get the flu!! We have all had our flu jabs and let’s hope we don’t catch some new strain of flu that’s just come from Europe.

Winter has only just begun and I love the winter fashion but I loathe winter germs – apparently when the kids reach a certain age, they stop catching everything so I am really looking forward to that day. We have already noticed that Miss6 takes a day or two to recover from the same thing that Master3 takes about a week to recover from.

In the past few days, we have heard of a bad gastro going around in Miss6′s class – quite a few kids have had it and have been off school for a week. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I think I might invest in a disinfection chamber so the kids have to go through it before they enter the house LOL
